IND vs SA: Massive Crowd, Lathi Charge Outside Barabati Stadium During T20I Ticket Sale

Udaipur, Dec 05, 2025:  Chaos broke out outside Barabati Stadium as huge crowds gathered to buy tickets for the first T20I between India and South Africa. The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) had announced on December 4 that ticket sales would begin on Friday morning, so thousands of fans reached the stadium gates on December 5. Authorities had banned overnight queues and allowed people to gather only from 6 a.m., but a large crowd was already waiting when the counters opened at 9 a.m., making it very hard to control the situation.

A viral video on X showed the scene getting worse, almost like a stampede. Police later had to use a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and bring back order.
