The England Test captain was hit on the face by a cricket ball, which left him with a badly bruised right eye and a bleeding nose. Stokes later shared a photo on Instagram and tried to joke about the incident.

Reports say Stokes was not batting at the time of the accident. He was standing nearby with his teammates when the ball came from his blind side and hit the right side of his face. This happened while Stokes is still recovering from an injury he picked up during the Ashes series.

The 32-year-old is not available for England’s white-ball team and will miss the upcoming T20 World Cup. He is expected to return to action during the home Test series against New Zealand in June, where he will rejoin the red-ball squad.

Stokes’ Leadership Under Scanner After Ashes Loss
