B.N PG Girls Win Inter-college Women's Cricket

An unbeaten 87-run performance by Manisha Rathore and a five (5) wicket haul by Vidhi, the B.N. PG Girls College, Udaipur beat Meera Girls (MG) College, Udaipur by a huge margin of 149 runs in the Finals of the Inter College Women Cricket tournament held today at the Meera Girls College Sports Academy Ground.

An unbeaten 87-run performance by Manisha Rathore and a five (5) wicket haul by Vidhi, the B.N. PG Girls College, Udaipur beat Meera Girls (MG) College, Udaipur by a huge margin of 149 runs in the Finals of the Inter College Women Cricket tournament held today at the Meera Girls College Sports Academy Ground.

Winning the toss, B.N. PG elected to bat and got off to a very poor start as they lost wickets at regular intervals but Manisha Rathore held one end up, to help her team to post 190 runs in the allotted 25 overs.

Poor and undisciplined bowling in the later stages by Meera Girls College also helped B.N. PG to get to this score as they gave away 67 runs in extras with 60 wide balls.  Manisha remained unbeaten with 87 runs with the help of 15 fours.  She also remained the top scorer of the tournament with 54 not out in the semi finals. 

B.N PG Girls Win Inter-college Women's Cricket

For MG College, Hemlata Meena took 3 wickets and Shaheen Pathan and Tara Ranawat chipped in with 2 wickets apiece.

Chasing a big total MG College never seemed to have been giving a fight to the disciplined bowling of B.N. PG Girls.  The entire team was dismissed for 41 runs in the 18th over.  They had no answer to Vidhi’s bowling who captured 5 wickets and she was ably supported by Santosh who chipped in with 4 wickets.

The officiating umpires for the match were Anshu Mohindra and Surendra Bairwa.  Students from both the colleges along with teachers were there to motivate and cheer up their teams and the students were hooting and enjoying the moments of the match.

Mahendra Sharma, Treasurer, RCA and Vice President of UDCA was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony and he gave away the mementos to the winners and runners up.  Officials of UDCA were also present to witness the match.
