May 31, 2025 - In the exciting Eliminator match of IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians (MI) won against Gujarat Titans (GT) by 20 runs. With this win, Mumbai has reached Qualifier 2 and Gujarat is out of the tournament.

The match was played in Mullanpur stadium, Mohali. Mumbai batted first and scored 228 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, GT could score only 208 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. After the match, MI captain Hardik Pandya looked very happy and confident.

Speaking at the press conference after the match, Hardik praised his team and also spoke about some players.  He particularly talked about his fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and calling him a luxury and "like the price of a house in Mumbai... he is so expensive."

'As Valuable As Mumbai Real Estate'

Hardik shared that whenever the match looked tough, he gave the ball to Bumrah - and Bumrah always delivered. In this match too, Bumrah took important wickets and put pressure on Gujarat's batting.

Hardik also said, "At one point, the match was equal. The pitch became good for batting, but we had to stay calm. Bairstow took his time, and once he got into rhythm, his batting was a joy to watch. Actually, everyone contributed."

He added that now the team needs to rest and recover well before Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

Playing Every Match Like a Knockout

Hardik said that for the last 9 matches, MI have been playing as if every game is a knockout. He said the team will continue with this mindset to keep winning.

With the win over GT, Mumbai will now face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 on June 1 in Ahmedabad. The winner of this match will play against RCB in the final on June 3.
