February 20, 2025 – Team India will today open their campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with their first Group A match in a few minutes from now against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian squad are favourites to win against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh team following the former’s recent 3-0 win against England at home in the ODI series. Both Sharma and Virat Kohli look to have found their touch with the bat again after a lean patch against New Zealand and Australia.
India, however, will sorely miss pacer Jasprit Bumrah who was ruled out of the tournament owing to a lower back injury which he suffered in the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
After today’s match, India will play against Pakistan on February 23 and then New Zealand on March 1.
