Samson, Kartik Shine as CSK Beat DC by 8 Wickets in IPL 2026

Samson and Kartik Anchor Clinical Chase

In response, CSK suffered an early setback as Lungi Ngidi dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel steadied the innings, guiding the team to 44/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Although Axar Patel struck to remove Urvil Patel, Samson assumed control of the chase with remarkable composure. He brought up a fluent half-century off 32 deliveries and shifted gears decisively during the middle overs. A key moment came when Samson attacked Kuldeep Yadav, collecting 18 runs in an over, followed by another aggressive assault on T Natarajan that yielded 20 runs, effectively sealing the contest.

At the other end, Kartik Sharma played a valuable supporting role, rotating strike efficiently before accelerating in the closing stages.
