Records and Mumbai’s Struggles

This victory also became Chennai’s biggest win ever in IPL history. Their previous best was a 97-run win against Punjab Kings in 2015. Other big wins include 93 runs against Delhi Capitals in 2014, 92 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2009, and 91 runs against Delhi in 2022. On the other side, this 103-run loss went past Mumbai’s earlier worst defeat of 87 runs against Rajasthan Royals in 2013. Their other heavy losses include 85 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016, 76 runs against Punjab Kings in 2011, and 66 runs against Punjab in 2008.

Chennai also reached another important milestone with this match. They now have 19 wins against Mumbai in 40 matches, which is the highest by any team against Mumbai in IPL history. Punjab Kings are next with 18 wins, followed by Delhi Capitals with 17, Royal Challengers Bengaluru with 16, and Rajasthan Royals with 15.
