IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets as Miller’s heroics seal win
Delhi Capitals defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets in IPL 2026 as David Miller’s last-over heroics seal a dramatic victory.
April 19, 2026: The Delhi Capitals secured a thrilling six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026. After two consecutive losses, the Axar Patel-led side returned strongly from a short break and delivered a composed performance under pressure. While the win was important, the team will still look to improve in certain areas going forward.
Speaking after the match, Tristan Stubbs highlighted the importance of partnerships and staying calm in tough situations. “I was quite ready in the change room. I thought, just watch the ball and go from there. We spoke as a team to bat in partnerships. KL was going well, so I tried to give him the strike,” he said. Stubbs also spoke about the pitch, adding, “It wasn’t spinning much, but it was a bit slow. I felt if we hit a few sixes, we could get back into the game.”

Miller’s late heroics seal the chase for Delhi Capitals
Earlier, RCB posted 175 runs after a strong start, with Phil Salt scoring 63 off 38 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to build on that momentum. Several batters got starts but could not convert them into big scores, which hurt the team. Delhi bowlers, including Lungi Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel, picked up two wickets each and controlled the middle overs effectively.
In the chase, Delhi lost early wickets, but KL Rahul steadied the innings with a well-made 57. After his dismissal, Stubbs took charge and scored an unbeaten 60, keeping the team in the contest. The match went into the final over with 15 runs needed. David Miller, who had struggled initially, turned the game around with two sixes and a four to seal the win in dramatic fashion.
With this victory, Delhi Capitals moved to fourth place on the IPL 2026 points table with six points from five matches, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru remain second with eight points from six games.
