Deepankar Chakraborty bagged the runner-up titles in both Singles and Doubles in the 60+ age category at the recently-concluded World Masters Tennis Tournament ITF 200

Udaipur, February 17, 2025 - Udaipur's veteran tennis player Deepankar Chakraborty secured the runner-up title in both Singles and Doubles, in the 60+ age category at the recently-concluded World Masters Tennis Tournament ITF 200. The event was organised by the International Tennis Federation in Trivandrum which concluded yesterday, February 16.

The winners were given trophies and prizes by Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament from Trivandrum.

In the Singles semi-finals, Deepankar Chakraborty defeated former Indian Seniors Team captain Sanjay Kumar 6-4, 4-6, and 10-8 in a super tiebreaker. Earlier, in the quarter-finals, he won against the fourth seed Sanjay Mehra from Delhi 6-3, 6-2.

In the Doubles final, Paul Varghese and Jairam won a tough battle in the super tiebreak, defeating Deepankar Chakraborty and Sanjay Kumar's pair 6-4, 6-3, 12-10.
