Deepti Sharma Ranks World No.1 in T20I Bowler Spot

Smriti Mandhana loses her World #1 Batter Rank to Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa

Udaipur, Dec 25, 2025: India Women's star all-rounder Deepti Sharma has made history by becoming the new World No.1 T20I bowler for the first time. She took the top spot from Australian fast bowler Annabel Sutherland after her performance in the first T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday, December 21.

Deepti bowled very well in India’s big win over Sri Lanka at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. She gave away only 20 runs in four overs and took the wicket of Sri Lanka’s No.3 Hasini Perera.

This performance helped her move ahead of Sutherland in the rankings. Deepti now has 737 rating points, one more than the Australian bowler.

Wolvaardt Replaces Mandhana as World No.1 ODI Batter

There was a change at the top in women’s cricket as South African captain Laura Wolvaardt replaced India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana as the No.1 ODI batter in the world.

Wolvaardt was in excellent form during the home white-ball series against Ireland, scoring back-to-back centuries in the second and third ODIs. Her performance helped South Africa win the series 3-0.

These knocks allowed Wolvaardt to overtake Mandhana in the ODI rankings. She now has 820 rating points, nine more than the Indian star opener.
