February 3, 2026:  Delhi Capitals reached their fourth straight Women’s Premier League final after beating Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. The Capitals chased a target of 169 with ease and made it look simple.

Openers Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma gave the team a strong start with an opening partnership of 89 runs. Lee scored 43 runs off 24 balls, while Verma made 21 runs from 31 balls. Both batters were out in the same over bowled by Georgia Wareham, but they had already done the main work.

Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues then took control of the chase. Rodrigues played aggressively and scored 41 runs from 23 balls before she was caught by Sophie Devine at mid-off.

When the captain got out, only 14 runs were still needed. Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp finished the chase without any trouble and helped Delhi Capitals enter the final.

DC Set Up Final Clash with RCB

Delhi Capitals will now face the 2024 winners, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in the final of the 2026 Women’s Premier League. DC will look to win the WPL title for the first time.

In this match, the Capitals were strong with the ball and confident with the bat.

They chose to bowl first, a decision that has helped them win all their league matches. The bowlers started well as Chinelle Henry dismissed Sophie Devine in the second over.

Beth Mooney and Anushka Sharma tried to steady the innings for Gujarat Giants. However, Nandani Sharma made an instant impact. She got Anushka Sharma out on her first ball, with Henry taking a great running catch at mid-on. Nandani then dismissed captain Ashleigh Gardner for a golden duck at slips. She almost took a hat-trick but bowled a wide next ball. Minnu Mani removed Kanika Ahuja soon after, leaving the Giants struggling at 59 for 4.

Mooney then stood firm under pressure and rebuilt the innings with Georgia Wareham. The pair added 61 runs and brought stability to the team. Wareham was dismissed in the 17th over by Henry, caught by Laura Wolvaardt at deep cover. In the same over, Henry also dismissed Bharti Fulmali, caught and bowled.

Mooney and Kashvee Gautam finished the innings well. Mooney remained unbeaten on 62, while Gautam scored 18 runs off 10 balls.

DC Batters Finish the Chase Comfortably

The chase was led by openers Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma. After scoring a few early boundaries, they increased the pace from the third over and scored 31 runs in two overs.

Runs kept flowing as the pair hit five boundaries in the fifth over of Renuka Singh. Lee scored 11 runs in the sixth over. At the end of the powerplay, DC were comfortably placed at 72 without loss.

Georgia Wareham then gave Gujarat some hope by dismissing Lee LBW and bowling Shafali in the eighth over.

Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt took charge next. They kept the scoreboard moving and hit boundaries when needed. From the 12th over onwards, they scored 49 runs from 22 balls. Rodrigues was later caught by Devine, but there was no further trouble.

Marizanne Kapp hit a four to seal the win in the 16th over. Delhi Capitals won the match with seven wickets in hand and moved into the final.
