The 67th district-level Kabaddi tournament for girls aged 17 to 19, organized by the Secondary Education Department, took place on Tuesday 19 September, 2023 at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Bhupalpura, Udaipur. Unfortunately, the inclement weather prevented the competition from being held on the outdoor playing field as originally planned. The competition is scheduled to continue until the September 22.
Before making this decision, the organizers patiently waited until 1:00 pm in the afternoon, hoping that the rain would subside and the competition could proceed outdoors. However, with no improvement in weather conditions, they made the prudent choice to move the event indoors to ensure the safety and comfort of the participants and spectators. Despite the initial setback caused by the rain, the spirited competition continued in the welcoming confines of the Residency School's large hall.
In the opening match of the district-level competition, St. George Debari emerged victorious, according to Principal Preeti Sharma. She reported that a total of 312 girls, divided into 26 teams in the 17-year-old age category, and 336 girls, comprising 28 teams in the 19-year-old age group, are actively participating in this event.
The inaugural match featured a face-off between St. George School Debari and New Central Academy, with St. George Debari School emerging as the triumphant team.
