The Udaipur District Level Schedule Tribe Student’s Annual Sports started today at Gandhi Ground, this 3 day activity will be carried on till 23^rd February.

Today, the District Head Madhu Mehta and Nagar Parishad Chairman Rajni Dangi inaugurated the event and addressed around 400 participants hailing from districts of T.S.P (Tribal Sub Plan) mainly Abu Road, Dungarpur, Banswara, Pratapgarh and Udaipur.

This annual sports consist of eight sports activities like athletics, kho-kho, kabaddi, archery, hockey, handball, volleyball and football.

Udaipur’s sports head Lalit Singh Jhala said that these activities encourage both physical and analytical development of participants. We have many students participating who have state and national level experience which also gives inspiration to other potential sportsmen.

In an exclusive talk with UT correspondent, Girdhari Singh Chauhan, Head coach of Archery said that Tribal Area Development Authority has proposed shooting range for archery which is getting ready at International Khel Graam. Also, Rs.45 lakhs have been sanctioned by Central Govt. to develop boy’s sports hostel particularly for archery academy it will have all latest equipment.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has approved a day boarding plan where a student will get archery equipment kit with training and stipend of Rs. 600. Further he said that this event is more like a talent search where we are giving them traditional bow and arrow to see their skills and potential.
