Fans Outraged Over No LIVE Telecast of Duleep Trophy; Double Century and a Six Wicket Haul Hog Limelight

Udaipur, Aug 29, 2025: Many top cricketers of the country are playing in the Duleep Trophy, which started on August 28 at the Central of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. However, the tournament is not being telecast live on TV. Fans are unhappy about this. Even small and big T20 leagues are shown live on Jio Hotstar and sports channels, so not showing such a big domestic tournament is hard to understand.

Because of this, BCCI is also being criticized. Cricket fans are waiting for matches after the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy ends. Fans are unhappy with BCCI’s decision to not show this major domestic tournament live. Many wrote that now even small tennis-ball matches are live streamed, so not showing the Duleep Trophy is disappointing.

What Does BCCI Say

Sources in the BCCI say that the regulator has a contract for a fixed number of telecast, which has to be 'managed' judicially. They say that the final of the Duleep Trophy will be telecast Live.

Shami’s Comeback, Manishi Claims 6

In the Duleep Trophy quarter-final in Bengaluru, East Zone restricted North Zone to 308 runs for six wickets on the first day. This was thanks to Shami’s strong bowling and the sharp performance of young left-arm spinner Manishi. Shami played his first first-class match since November 2024 and took the wicket of Sahil Lotra for 55 runs in 17 overs. 21-year-old Manishi from Jamshedpur took three wickets for 90 runs on the first day. On Day 2, North Zone were bowled out for 405, Manishi taking his tally to 6 wickets. He finished with 6 wickets, the last wicket of the innings also being taken by him. He conceded 111 runs in his 22.2 overs.

Ayush Badoni played a brilliant innings of 63 runs off 60 balls for North Zone. Other contributors were Kanhaiya Wadhwan (76), Nishant (47), Auqib Nabi (44). Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar spent nine overs off the field for hamstring treatment. East Zone, meanwhile is reeling at 173 for the loss of 4 wickets.

Malewar and Patidar Score Centuries

Danish Malewar and experienced Rajat Patidar smashed the weak North East Zone attack on Thursday. Central Zone scored 532 runs for 4 wickets in 102 overs. Danish smashed an overwhelming 203 runs off 222 balls, and was supported by a spirited 125 from Patidar and 87 from Yash Rathod. Central Zone captain Dhruv Jurel and East Zone captain Abhimanyu Ishwaran missed the match due to fever and a groin injury.
