Continuing its support to developing sports talent in the state, Wonder Cement will now be sponsoring Jaipur Sports League, a multidiscipline inter- school competition, starting at Rajasthan University from November 5th.

Vivek Patni, Director-Marketing, told media in Jaipur that Wonder Cement intends to provide a platform for building athletes in the state so that they can earn a competitive edge in various sports meet at the national and international levels.

Wonder Cement’s objective would be to enhance and uplift the performance of athletes through sponsorship of such event, he added.

Vivek is a also a member of the advisory board of the League. Prominent among others in the board is Olympian Gopal Saini.

Vivek, who is a sport enthusiast, took personal interest in the various sport events planned as part of JSL. The participation of Wonder Cement in promoting sport event is an extension of the company’s continued involvement in various welfare activities.

Later briefing the media, Abhishek Tiwari, founder and CEO, Bridge Smart Education, said the aim of such sport meet, first of its kind in Rajasthan, is to promote sports as part of mainstream educational curriculum of schools and for scouting sporting talent among  students. In all, 150 schools will participate in the 12-day event with nearly 15000 students vying for the top slots in 20 different categories.

The total prize money offered at the tournament is Rs. 8 lakhs.
