February 9, 2026: The title race is heating up across Europe’s top football leagues as the season moves forward. Real Madrid are close behind Barcelona in La Liga. Manchester City are chasing Arsenal in the Premier League. Inter Milan continue to dominate Serie A. Bayern Munich have returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga, while Lens are putting strong pressure on PSG in Ligue 1.

La Liga

Real Madrid defeated Valencia 2-0 on Sunday night. After this win, the gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona is just one point.

Real Madrid have 57 points from 23 matches. Barcelona, who beat Mallorca 3-0 the previous night, have 58 points from the same number of games. The close points gap shows that the title race will be very tight in the coming weeks.

Premier League

Manchester City were trailing Liverpool for 84 minutes on Sunday night. However, Pep Guardiola’s side made a strong comeback and won the match 2-1.

This victory helped City stay close to Arsenal in the title race. A draw or loss would have pushed them behind. Manchester City and Arsenal both have 50 points from 25 matches. Arsenal defeated Sunderland 3-0 in their match.

Serie A

Inter Milan continue to strengthen their position at the top of Serie A. They beat Sassuolo 5-0 in a dominant display.

With this win, Inter have 58 points from 24 matches. AC Milan are second with 50 points, but they have played one match fewer than Inter.

Bundesliga

Bayern Munich had dropped points in two straight matches and faced some pressure. However, they bounced back with a big win.

Bayern defeated Hoffenheim 5-1 to return to form. After 21 matches, Bayern sit at the top of the table with 54 points. Borussia Dortmund are second with 48 points from the same number of games.

Ligue 1

Lens have put PSG under serious pressure in Ligue 1. They are just two points behind the leaders.

Lens beat Rennes 3-1 and now have 49 points from 21 matches. PSG remain top with 51 points after defeating Marseille 2-0.
