Udaipur’s chess players exhibited outstanding performance in the recently held ‘Entire India Fide Rating Chess Tournament’ in Vadodara’s Hotel Surya. The tournament was organized by Gujarat State Chess Association.

Udaipur’s chess players exhibited outstanding performance in the recently held ‘Entire India Fide Rating Chess Tournament’ in Vadodara’s Hotel Surya. The tournament was organized by Gujarat State Chess Association.

Chess coach Vikas Sahu informed that, 19 players from Udaipur took part in the tournament, in which, Yash Mandavriya, Bhavesh Pandiyar, Harshit Babel, Arun Kataria, Devansh Chechani, Vandan Lodha and Vedant Sharma got the prestigious fide rating.

293 players from all over the country participated in the tournament which was held from 26th-29th July.

Udaipur’s Alpesh Patni also qualified for the fide rating. Sahu informed that performance of other players like Ayush Lodha, Kushagra Chittora, Kshitij Vaya, Prabhav Maheshwari, Kunal Chabra, Kushal Patel, Chinmay Jain, Manish Choudhary, Vansh Bhaskar Singh and Shubham Odh was also appreciable.

He also informed that Udaipur’s Rajendra Teli was appointed as the assistant judge in the competition and received the last third norm for the title ‘Fide Arbiter’. Now he will soon get the title by World Chess Federation.
