Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup from November 20 until December 18. After the event in South Korea and Japan in 2002, this will be the second World World Cup completely staged in Asia and the first World Cup to ever be held in the Middle East. Additionally, the tournament will include 32 teams for the last time. The next edition of the FIFA World Cup to be held across the USA, Canada and Mexico in 2026 will host 48 teams. Australia, Japan, Qatar, South Korea, and the United States were the five bidders for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which finally went to the Arab kingdom. 64 games will be played To determine the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 champions.  

This World Cup will be the first to not be played in May, June, or July and to take place in the northern autumn. It will be played in a shorter time frame of roughly 29 days due to the warmer weather in Qatar. The first game of the tournament will be a face-off between the host Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. The final willbe played on December 18, 2022, which also happens to be Qatar National Day. France is the reigning World Cup champion. 

8 Stadiums across the Arab kingdom have been prepared for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. These include the Lusail Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Al Rayyan Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, Education City Stadium, RAS Abu Abbound Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium.
