Top 10 Goalscorers of 2025: Football’s Deadliest Finishers in 2025
Udaipur Jan 01, 2026: The year 2025 ended, and the football world has witnessed several major moments and surprises. One constant throughout the year, however, was Kylian Mbappé’s remarkable consistency in front of goal. Even when his team did not perform at its best, Mbappé maintained an exceptional level of performance for Real Madrid.
By the end of the year, Mbappé emerged as the leading goalscorer when combining his performances for both club and country. He also equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-standing record for the most goals scored for Real Madrid in a single calendar year. Ronaldo had netted 59 goals for the club in 2013, a milestone that Mbappé matched in 2025.
Having joined Real Madrid in July 2024, Mbappé completed his first full calendar year with the club in 2025. He featured in a total of 58 matches during the year. Mbappé scored braces in 11 matches and registered four hat-tricks, underlining his dominance as one of the world’s most lethal finishers.
The next two places on the list of the top 10 goalscorers of 2025 are occupied by two familiar names — Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. Harry Kane enjoyed another prolific year with Bayern Munich, scoring 60 goals in 65 matches across club and international football. Erling Haaland followed closely, netting 57 goals in just 55 matches. This gave the Norwegian striker a superior goals-per-match ratio compared to the players ranked above him.
The biggest surprise on the list comes at fourth place. Kevin Hernandez of Puerto Rico finished as the fourth-highest goalscorer of the year. He scored an impressive 48 goals in 37 matches, boasting an outstanding average of 1.3 goals per game. The 27-year-old centre-forward has been playing for Puerto Rico Surf since August. Prior to that, he scored 23 goals in 18 matches for Academia Quintana and later added 25 goals in 19 matches, highlighting his remarkable scoring consistency.
As expected, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo once again found their places among the world’s top goalscorers. Even in the latter stages of their legendary careers, the two icons continued to deliver in 2025. Messi finished fifth on the list with 46 goals in 54 matches at an average of 0.85. Ronaldo, ranked tenth, scored 40 goals in 44 matches, maintaining a strong average of 0.9 goals per game.
