The penultimate day at the Futta 5-a side Football Tournament saw another evening full of energy and entertainment with players showcasing excellent performances. The two leading teams Mewar Football Club (FC) and Mayo Nostalgia reached the Finals, which is to be held tonight at the Hotel Shikarbadi grounds.
Mewar FC smashed Rajputana FC with 1-0 while Mayo beat Chelsea FC by 2-1.
Summary of the Quarter Finals
Chelsea FC vs Ravi Panwar XI and Rajputana FC vs Udaipur Stykers were the two quarter final matches were played yesterday at the Shikarbadi ground.
Ravi Panwar XI failed to defend its glory by losing the match 0-2 as Chelsea dominated the game. Shankar and Gopal of Chelsea bagged one goal each to enter the Semi-Finals of the tournament.
In the second quarter final, Rajputana FC faced Udaipur Stykers and amazed the audience with its terrific team work and powerful defense. Rajputana won the game 4-1. The match was a dream setup for Rajputana’s Anshul Babel who fired three consecutive goals to get his team to the Semis. Yaduraj’s one goal put the team in a relatively unbeatable position. Udaipur Stykers Waqar Khan netted one goal to save face to an extent.
Summary of the Semi Finals
The First Semi-Final was played between Chelsea FC and Mayo Nostalgia. The tight and gripping match exhibited some of the finest defense by both Mayo and Chelsea but lastly, Mayo turned offensive and Rajveer Singh Jhala and Digvijay scored one goal each. Rajendra scored the lone goal for Chelsea, who lost the match 1-2.
Mewar FC and Rajputana FC was another worth-a-watch football match enjoyed by audience. Both teams struggled hard to get a goal. However, Surendra Bhati’s one goal destroyed the Rajputana’s dream to reach the Finals.
The final match of Futta, Udaipurs first ever organized Five-a-side football tournament will be played between Mewar FC and Mayo Nostalgia at the Shikarbadi Ground, Udaipur from 8 pm onward today.
