Gaurav wins one silver and three bronze; is skipper of the Rajasthan team at the ongoing Federation Cup National Senior Powerlifting Championship in New Delhi
Udaipur, December 18, 2024 - Udaipur’s Gaurav Sahu has won one silver and three bronze medals in the on-going Federation Cup National Senior Powerlifting Championship. Gaurav was representing Rajasthan team in the competition held at the Multipurpose Hall of Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi. This is the international player’s first national-level achievement in a senior competition.
Organising secretary of Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association Vinod Sahu informed that Gaurav won a silver medal in the 66 kg Weight category by lifting 232.5 kg in the Squat event. He won two bronze medals - in the Bench Press by lifting 122.5 kg and in the Deadlift by lifting 235 kg. He lifted a total of 590 kg, earning another bronze medal.
The Championship which began on December 16 will continue until tomorrow. The powerlifting team representing Rajasthan comprises of Gaurav Sahu (captain), Krishna Vyas, Yogendra Sogarwal and Prachi Soni. Team manager is Ashish Jaiman while team coaches are Sumeet Kumar and Chandresh Soni.
