Sunil Gavaskar Surprises Jemimah Rodrigues With Special Guitar

January 10, 2026: Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar recently grabbed attention after gifting a special guitar to India women’s batter Jemimah Rodrigues. The guitar was customised in the shape of a cricket bat. Gavaskar presented the unique gift to Jemimah before joining her for a music jam session.

The jam session took place on the eve of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In the video, which has gone viral on social media, Jemimah looked delighted after receiving the custom-made guitar.

The meeting happened after Gavaskar had earlier said that he would jam with Jemimah if India won the World Cup. In the clip, the two can be seen singing the song “Yeh Dosti”, originally sung by Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Jemimah wrote, “Sunil sir kept his promise, and we ended up jamming with the coolest bat-guitar ever. This was a special one.”

Jemimah Rodrigues Named Delhi Capitals Captain

With the WPL underway, Jemimah Rodrigues is set to be in action once again. Ahead of the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League, she has been named captain of Delhi Capitals Women. After losing three consecutive finals, the team will be hoping for a better result in the 2026 season.

Delhi Capitals will begin their WPL 2026 campaign against defending champions Mumbai Indians. The match will be played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on January 10.

Mumbai Indians have already played one match in the tournament. They lost the season opener to 2024 champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Nadine de Klerk’s all-round performance helped RCB secure a thrilling win.
