July 7, 2025 - India won the second Test match against England by a huge margin of 336 runs. With this win, India levelled the 5-match series 1-1. This was the first time in 58 years that the Indian team won a Test match at Edgbaston. What Pataudi to Dhoni-Kohli could not do, the Indian team captained by Shubman Gill did it. The hero of India's victory in this Test match (IND vs ENG 2nd Test) was captain Gill, who played an important role in leading the team to victory.

Gill scored a double century in the first innings and a century in the second innings, However, apart from the captain some other players also made important contributions to this victory such as vice-captain Rishabh Pant, experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep.

With this, Gill became the second Indian and ninth player in Test history to score a double century and a century in the same match.

2. Akash Deep – The Wicket Taker

Akash Deep bowled brilliantly in the match. He took 10 wickets in both innings. The England batters had no answer to his bowling. His performance with the ball helped India put pressure on England throughout the match.

3. Mohammed Siraj – The Fast Bowler

Siraj also did very well with the ball. He took a total of 7 wickets in the match. His fast bowling made it difficult for England’s batters to stay at the crease. His performance was very helpful in India’s big win.

4. Ravindra Jadeja – The All-Rounder

Jadeja made important runs in both innings. In the first innings, he scored 89 runs. In the second innings, he remained not out on 69 runs. He did not score a century, but his runs were very useful for the team and helped India reach a strong total.

5. Rishabh Pant – The Vice-Captain

Pant gave good support in both innings. He scored 25 runs in the first innings and 65 runs in the second innings. His batting gave strength to the middle order and helped the team maintain the momentum. His contribution was also important in this big win.
