Shubman Gill Ruled Out of Duleep Trophy After Physio’s Blood Test Report to BCCI

Udaipur, Aug 23, 2025: Before the Asia Cup 2025, the famous domestic cricket tournament, Duleep Trophy, is going to start. In this tournament, Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill was made the captain of North Zone. But now, news comes that he will not play in this tournament.

Gill was made the captain of North Zone after his great performance in the five-match Test series against England. But after a recent blood test, the physio sent his report to the BCCI and suggested that Gill should not play in the Duleep Trophy. Right now, Gill is enjoying his holidays. Match to Begin from August 28

The Duleep Trophy will start on August 28. The North Zone team, led by Gill, will play against East Zone at the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru. The match will start at 9:30 am. If Gill does not play, vice-captain Ankit Kur may take charge of the team. But this is not officially confirmed yet.

Indian Team to Leave on September 4 - 5

India is now focused on the Asia Cup 2025, which will start on September 9 in Dubai. India’s first match will be against UAE on September 10. Reports say the Indian team will leave for Dubai on September 4 or 5. Even if the North Zone team goes ahead in the Duleep Trophy, Gill will not be available. He has been made vice-captain for the Asia Cup.
