Hardik Pandya's viral photo with Dinesh Karthik and Andy Flower sparks speculation about a possible move to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

June 03, 2026: A picture showing Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya dining with Dinesh Karthik and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower has gone viral on social media. The image surfaced just days after RCB secured their second consecutive IPL title, leading many fans to speculate whether the trio were discussing a potential trade involving the Indian all-rounder.

The rumours gained further traction amid reports suggesting that Pandya could be on his way out of the Mumbai Indians following three challenging seasons with the franchise.

However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that the meeting was connected to an IPL trade, transfer, or contract negotiation. RCB were in Ahmedabad after winning the IPL 2026 final on May 31 and remained in the city on June 1 for post-title celebrations before returning home. Ahmedabad also happens to be Pandya's hometown. Neither Pandya, RCB, nor the Mumbai Indians have made any statement linking the dinner to a possible player move.

Viral Image Appears to Be AI-Generated

Several social media users have pointed out inconsistencies in the image, leading many to believe that it may have been generated using artificial intelligence.

One of the most noticeable discrepancies is Pandya's hairstyle, which appears significantly different from his recent appearances for the Mumbai Indians. Additionally, Pandya's girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, shared photos from their vacation in France on the same day the alleged meeting reportedly took place. The India all-rounder had also left Mumbai following MI's final IPL 2026 match on May 24. As a result, there is no credible evidence to support claims that Pandya met Karthik and Flower to discuss a move to RCB.

Hardik Pandya Set to Part Ways With Mumbai Indians

Despite the speculation surrounding the viral image, reports indicate that Hardik Pandya's stint as Mumbai Indians captain is nearing its end.

Mumbai Indians failed to qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs, marking the second time in three seasons under Pandya's leadership that the franchise missed the top four. Following another disappointing campaign, the five-time champions are reportedly considering a change in leadership and squad structure.

According to reports, Pandya informed the Mumbai Indians management during the season that he intended to leave the franchise after the campaign ended. A source close to the player told PTI that the decision was made midway through IPL 2026 after he struggled to gain the backing of several senior members within the dressing room.

"There is only so much that a young man can take. The last three years haven't been easy for him. The MI dressing room that he had left in 2021 wasn't the same when he returned in 2024. Not every senior player was on the same page.

If results come despite divergent views, you still won't feel frustrated. But when everyone pulls in different directions, after a point you don't have the mental bandwidth to carry on. So, Hardik had decided mid-season that he wouldn't be part of MI next season," the source told PTI.

Would Hardik Pandya Be a Perfect Fit for RCB?

Should Pandya become available in the upcoming transfer window, RCB would undoubtedly be among the franchises monitoring the situation closely.

The Bengaluru-based side is currently enjoying a golden period after winning back-to-back IPL titles. The presence of Pandya's elder brother, Krunal Pandya, in the squad could also make the franchise an attractive destination.

More importantly, Hardik remains India's premier seam-bowling all-rounder in white-ball cricket. His ability to contribute with both bat and ball would strengthen an already formidable RCB lineup and could help the franchise extend its dominance in the seasons ahead.

For now, though, the viral image appears to be nothing more than social media speculation, with no concrete evidence linking Hardik Pandya to a move to RCB.
