Udaipur, Dec 03, 2025: The second ODI of the ongoing multi-format series between India and South Africa is being played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on December 3. India batted first, and the innings was set alight by Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad both culminating their dominating performance after a century each.

Gaikwad walked in after the fall of the second wicket and delivered a brilliant knock, scoring his first ODI century. He fully repaid the trust shown in him by the team. Rituraj was caught by deZorzi off Jansen on 105, which he scored off 83 balls. Kohli got to his second back to back century but was also picked up by Markram off a Ngidi delivery, when he was at 102 having faced 93 balls.

Recently, Gaekwad played for India A against South Africa A, where he scored 117, 68*, and 25 in three matches. He reached his century in the second ODI against SA in just 77 balls at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur, hitting 12 fours and 2 sixes.

Successive 300 plus Score for India

India crossed 300 runs, as the pitch is good for batting and South Africa had chased 350 closely in the first ODI in Ranchi. A win in this match will also give India the series, which will boost their confidence after the recent ODI loss to Australia and the 2-0 Test defeat to South Africa at home.

Gaikwad’s India Career in Brief

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who leads Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL, has played 23 T20Is for India and scored 633 runs, including one century and four fifties. The Raipur game is only his eighth ODI, and he has now crossed 200 ODI runs with his maiden century. He is yet to make his debut in Test cricket.
