Zimbabwe’s Recent Form

Zimbabwe impressed during the group stage of the tournament, registering notable victories over Australia and Sri Lanka to progress to the Super 8 stage. However, they were unable to maintain momentum and exited the competition after a series of defeats, including a loss to India.

India’s Packed International Calendar

Ahead of the Zimbabwe tour, India are scheduled to play multiple bilateral series following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League season on 31 May. These include:

  • A home series against Afghanistan (1 Test, 3 ODIs)
  • An away T20I series against Ireland (2 matches)
  • A full-fledged away tour of England (5 T20Is, 3 ODIs)

The Zimbabwe series is expected to provide an opportunity for squad rotation and the inclusion of emerging players.
