Asia Cup 2025: India Wrap up an Edge of the Seat Final
Udaipur, Sept 28, 2025: India shook of a shaky first half in their chase to secure their 9th Asia Cup title.
India Innings
Abhishek faltered in the most important match of the tournament and was caught out without reaching double figures. He was shortly followed by captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman GIll before the first 5 overs were completed in their pursuit of the Asia Cup title. Sanju Samson's cameo of 24 runs also came to a halt after some clever bowling by Abrar Ahmed. It was Tilak Verma and Shivam Dube who held the innings together in the tight chase of an otherwise modest total put up on the board by Pakistan. Dube (33 off 22) fell off the last ball of the 19th over and the final over saw India through with Rinku Singh joining Tilak Verma (69*).
Pakistan Innings
The first 10 overs of the Pakistan innings were a dream start. The first wicket, that of in-form Sahibzada Farhan fell in the 10th over, when Pakistan were cruising at a comfortable 84 with a RR of 9. Ayub was the next to go in the thrid over after the pair added 19 runs. What followed thereafter was a domino effect, that saw Pakistan lose 8 wickets adding just 33 runs to their score, leaving India with 146 on the board to chase off their allotted 20 overs.
