Dr. Deepika Sahu and Yashwant Bandwal, who hail from Udaipur, were part of the first ever India House at the Olympics in Paris. This is the first time in the history of Olympics that India has set up such a facility at the Olympic Games, with the aim of promoting Indian culture and expressing the country's aspiration to host the 2036 Games. India House, established by the Reliance Foundation and Indian Olympic Association, is a vibrant showcase of India's art, culture, and heritage, and serves as a hub to cheer up, celebrate and support Indian athletes' efforts and achievements.

Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), inaugurated the first ever India House, at the Paric Olympics. The inauguration was on 27 July, and was attended by members of the Indian diaspora in Paris.

Depika and Yashwant, both members of the Global Indian Organisation (GIO France, Paris) were also part of this gathering. The event was also attended by Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, Jayesh Shah - BCCI President, Abhinav Bindra, PT Usha, the Indian Ambassador to France and other French dignitaries.

Speaking to UdaipurTimes, Deepika said that she and her husband have always been connected to the Indian community forums in Paris and through the India House, it was a privilege for them to cheer and support the Indian team at the Olympics. Their interaction with Nita Ambani and an opportunity to watch Abhinav Bindra getting the Olympic order (bearing the Olympic Torch on behalf of India) were among the memorable sections of the event, she added.
