ICC World Cup’s Final by beating arch rival Pakistan by runs 29 runs in a great match played today in Mohali. From last few days IND-PAK semifinal was the hottest topic all over India and perhaps in Pakistan too. Every nook and corner of India is celebrating this historical win, it seems like Diwali, Holi and Eid all came one at a time tonight. It was not less than a final match for both the countries; some media also named it a BIG WAR India is celebrating today; wishes and prayers of millions of Indians came true. Only unfortunate is Sachin, who missed to break another record of century but honored with “Man of the Match” Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat. It was a baller’s day out at Mohali’s batting pitch where Zaheer took one, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra got two wickets followed by Yuvraj and Munaf’s one wicket each. Wahab Riaz of Pakistan showcased a great performance by taking 5 wickets. Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Chandigarh was packed with all common and elite audiences including Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousf Raza Gilani were among the other guests enjoying the match. UT tried to keep its community on facebook updated with sharing special moments, if you missed that, then here is a complete match summary. India won the toss and chose to bat Match Summary India Inning When five fours swept smoothly in 3 rd over of the inning by Virendra Sehwag, it gave some poise to see a big score to be made by Indian skippers against Pakistan. But things could not remain certain when Viru lost to 38 off 25 balls, trapped in LBW by Wahab Riaz’s ball. Now, all eyes of hopes were looking India’s great Sachin who was a century away to make a world record of highest centuries. While Gautam Gambhir was playing decently with a balanced rate but couldn’t carry for long, he was stumped quickly by Akmal on Hafeez’s ball. After 20 overs India was 119/2 with four of 9 lives given to Sachin. The super swing and tricky reverse of Wahab lowered down the momentum of Indian batsmen, virat took no time in trapping himself in one of the wahab’s ball and gave a catch to Umar Akmal. This season’s hot-boy Yuvraj disappointed himself with a Yorker by wahab and went for zero. With 11 fours in 115 balls, Sachin this time was not so lucky to have 10 th life and got catch out by Afridi on Ajmal’s ball. A big heart break followed when Dhoni and Raina could not resist the old ball. The world’s most powerful batting line was sinking. At the end of 40 overs it was 200/5 Ajmal stumped Harbhajan singh in last 10 overs of the innings and Wahab took his 5 th wicket by hunting down Zaheer Khan. Ashish Nehra tried his best to give at least some more runs but unfortunately got run out by wahab. India made 260 runs in 50 overs. Pakistan Inning The Pakistan inning started without pressure in front of Indian bowling which was looking good but not best. The Pakistani openers Akmal and Hafeez made their way to 9 th over when a short ball from Zaheer sent Akmal back to pavilion and caught out by Yuvraj Singh. Pakistan was 52/1 after 10 overs. In the start of the next phase of 20 overs, Indians strategized themselves with single focus on run savings. Indians responded with run-saving fields and lines and Indian bowlers started showing some magical rounds of overs when Mohammad Hafeez caught by Dhoni on Munaf patel’s ball. Pakistan was 89/2 at the end of 20 overs, the second wicket forced them to slug down the pace. Asad Shafiq and Yonus Khan were on mission Mohali. Yonus was a matter of big worry for Indians but blues were tight on field and bowl, game was changing upside down, with Shafiq bowled out by Yuvi, pressure mounted on Yonus Khan and ended with his dismissal by Yuvraj’s another ball caught by Raina. India had a chance to get the glorious win but Misbah and Umar Akmal’s batting were thinking opposite. Umar cut the ribbon of first 6 of whole match with 29 runs in just 23 balls. The not so long but expensive partnership broke when Bhajji’s first ball of the over confused Akmal to respond and balled out. Pakistan was away from the required run rate of above 7. Munaf Patel produced a brilliant 33 rd over, with just one run. Pressure was mounting on PAK side, and to break the ice into pieces here come the series of falls. First Razzaq and then Pakistan captain Afridi did a mistake on Harbhajan’s spin. Next came the most ferocious baller Wahab Riaz
