February 13, 2026: The India vs Pakistan match is the biggest game in any ICC tournament. But when it comes to results, this match has often been one-sided. India has a clear advantage over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Fans get very excited whenever these two teams play. Now, they will meet again in the 2026 T20 World Cup, which has created a lot of discussion.

India leads Pakistan 7-1 in the T20 World Cup. In 2007, India won in a Super Over. India also has a better record in all T20 International matches. Pakistan has won only a few games. Recently, the teams met three times in the Asia Cup, and India won all three matches. This shows India’s strength in this format.

Even though India won against Namibia, it was one of their most fragile performances. The team was weak for most of the first innings. Many call the Suryakumar Yadav-led side the favourite to win the title, but they did not play well enough to justify it. Only Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya scored big runs, while the rest of the middle-order batters failed to impress.

Here are three key things India needs to improve before the IND vs PAK match:

1. Strengthen the Middle Order and Build Strong Partnerships

India’s middle order has shown vulnerability, even against weaker teams. In the Namibia game, only Kishan and Pandya scored freely, while the rest of the batters failed to rotate the strike or build partnerships. Against Pakistan, who have a strong bowling attack, the middle order cannot rely on just one or two players. They need to bat with patience, communicate well, rotate strike, and put together meaningful partnerships. A strong middle order will help India set or chase big totals and reduce pressure on the top order.

2. Convert Good Starts into Big and Match-Winning Scores

Several Indian batters have started well but failed to turn their starts into substantial scores. Players like Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma showed intent but could not make big contributions. Against Pakistan, every run will matter, and India cannot afford early dismissals in the middle overs. Batters need to focus on building their innings, playing smart cricket, and finishing with impactful scores. Turning starts into 30s, 40s, or even 50s can make a huge difference in such a high-stakes game.

3. Control the Powerplay and Apply Early Pressure with the Ball

Namibia scored 57 runs in the first six overs and looked comfortable. While India’s spinners later turned the game, the top-order bowlers need to be sharper from the very start. Against Pakistan, conceding too many runs in the powerplay could put the team under pressure. Bowlers must focus on accuracy, take early wickets, and control the run rate. Effective powerplay bowling will make it harder for Pakistan’s top-order to settle and give India an advantage going into the middle overs.
