IND vs AUS: India Roar Back to Level the T20I Series With a Stunning Win

While Washington and Jitesh sealed India's win, it was Arshdeep Singh who was named Man of the Match for his 3-wicket haul

Udaipur, Nov 03, 2025: Team India made a great comeback in the third T20I. Australia had set a target of 187 runs for India, which India easily chased down. With this 5-wicket win, Suryakumar’s team leveled the five-match T20I series.

Suryakumar won the toss and chose to field first. Arshdeep Singh gave India a strong start by taking the wicket of Travis Head (6) in the first over. In his second over, he also dismissed Josh Inglis (1). Then Tim David started attacking the Indian bowlers. His quick batting increased Australia’s run rate. He built a 59-run partnership with captain Mitchell Marsh. Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Marsh for just 11 runs. Shivam Dube sent the dangerous Tim David back to the pavilion. David scored 74 runs off 38 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. Marcus Stoinis (69) played well in the end and helped Australia reach 186 runs. Arshdeep took 3 wickets, Varun Chakravarthy took 2, and Shivam Dube got 1 wicket.

Washington Sundar and Jitesh Sharma seal the win for India

In reply, the Indian openers gave a good start. Abhishek Sharma showed great fighting spirit but could not score more than 25 runs. His 16-ball innings included two fours and two sixes. Shubman Gill (15) failed again, which will worry the Indian camp.

Then captain Suryakumar Yadav came in and increased the scoring rate. He made 24 runs at a strike rate of 218 before being dismissed by Stoinis. At that stage, India’s score was 76 for 3 in 7.3 overs.

Axar Patel scored 17 runs, while Tilak Varma added 29. Wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma and Washington Sundar, both included in this match, guided India to victory in 18.3 overs. Washington played a brilliant knock of 49 runs off 23 balls, hitting three fours and four big sixes at a strike rate of 213. Jitesh remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 13 balls.

Both players stayed till the end and helped India win the match by 5 wickets. Arshdeep Singh was named Man of the Match for his 3-wicket haul. India’s next match will be played on November 6.
