Asia Cup 2025: UAE Cricket Board Clarifies Rumours on India-Pakistan Match

Udaipur, Aug 9, 2025: Asia Cup 2025, being held at UAE, will start on September 9. A big match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for 14 September. and there is a lot of opposition to this match. There are rumors that this match may be cancelled. Recently, the Indian team did not play against Pakistan in the WCL either. Because of this, fans hope something similar might happen in Asia Cup 2025 as well.

Emirates Cricket Board COO Subhan Ahmed has assured that despite recent tensions, India and Pakistan will play against each other in Asia Cup 2025. After 26 people died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian WCL team refused to play against Pakistan in two matches of the World Championship of Legends (WCL).
Ahmed told the media, "I cannot give a formal guarantee, but there is no chance that Pakistan and India will not play. Asia Cup is different from private tournaments like the World Championship of Legends, where India refused to play Pakistan in both the league stage and semi-finals."

Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format. The tournament will take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi between September 9-28, 2025. Dubai will host 11 matches, including the final, while Abu Dhabi will host 8 matches. India will play against UAE and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10 and 14 and against Oman on 19 September at Abu Dhabi. India and Pakistan may meet again in the Super-4 stage. If both teams reach the final, India and Pakistan could play against each other three times in the Asia Cup.
Relations between the two countries are tense due to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in April and then the altercation that ended just short of a full fledged war.
