January 18, 2025 - Team India has announced their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the three-match ODI series against England. Skipper Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar made the announcement at a press conference today. Head coach Gautam Gambhir was not present atthe press conference. He had already been in a discussion regarding the selection last evening with Sharma and the selectors.
Shubman Gill has been named as the vice-captain of the side. Paceman Jasprit Bumrah has been selected in the 15-man team but Agarkar said that final decision will be taken after his fitness test in February.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have been taken over Sanju Samson as wicket-keepers while Mohammed Siraj was another big name left out. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami were also included, which confirms their full recovery.

The Champions Trophy will be held in a hybrid model. India will play their matches in Dubai, UAE, while the other games will be held in three venues in Pakistan.
