India Thrash West Indies by an Innings and 140 Runs in First Test at Ahmedabad
Oct 04, 2025: India made a strong start to their home Test series, beating West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first Test at Ahmedabad. The match lasted only two and a half days. It showed the difference between the two teams and gave West Indies a lot to think about before their tour of Bangladesh.
From start to finish, it was one-sided. West Indies batted first and were all out for just 162 runs. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah bowled very well. India scored many runs in reply and ended their first innings at 448/5, giving a lead of 286 runs.
India’s Big Batting Show
There were three big centuries in the match. Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, and KL Rahul all scored 100. Captain Shubman Gill added a calm fifty.
West Indies gave up again when they only needed 286 runs to make India bat again. Their second innings ended after 45.1 overs, with 146 runs scored. It was hard for any player to bat well because Ravindra Jadeja bowled very well. He took 4 wickets, and Mohammed Siraj took 3 more. Both bowled excellently.
The West Indies struggled throughout, with Alick Athanaze's 38 being the highest score in the second innings. India leads the two-match series 1-0.
