Udaipur, Oct 22, 2025: A three-match ODI series is being played between India and Australia. The first match took place on October 19 in Perth, where India lost by 7 wickets. With this win, Australia took a 1-0 lead in the series. Now, the second match is about to take place.
When and where will the second ODI be played?
The second ODI between India and Australia will be played on October 23 at the Oval Cricket Ground in Adelaide. The match will start at 9:00 AM IST, and the toss will be held at 8:30 AM. If India wants to stay alive in the series, it must win this match at any cost.
Change expected in India’s playing XI
Captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir are likely to make a big change in the team’s playing XI. The team’s main spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, could be included in the lineup for this match. He may replace off-spin all-rounder Washington Sundar.
Washington Sundar got a chance in the first ODI against Australia in Perth, where he took one wicket and scored only 10 runs. Kuldeep Yadav, on the other hand, is known as an attacking bowler who can take wickets on any pitch.
Kuldeep’s recent form has been excellent. He performed brilliantly in the Test series against the West Indies, finishing as the highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets in two matches. Despite that, he was not included in the playing XI for the first ODI against Australia.
Kuldeep Yadav’s ODI record
Now, Kuldeep Yadav could get a chance in this crucial match of the series. He is known for his ability to control runs and pick wickets regularly. His inclusion could pose a serious challenge to the Australian batsmen in Adelaide. So far, Kuldeep has taken 181 wickets in 110 innings across 113 ODIs for India.
India’s probable playing XI
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
