India vs New Zealand 2026: Full Schedule Announced for Record-Breaking 12-Match Tour
India will tour New Zealand for a historic 12-match all-format series from October to December 2026. The tour includes five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests across major venues.
June 03, 2026: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has unveiled its international home schedule for the 2026-27 season, highlighted by a blockbuster all-format tour by India that will run from October 22 to December 1. The highly anticipated series will see India take on New Zealand in five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches across five major centres. According to NZC, the 12-match series is the largest inbound international tour ever hosted by the board, surpassing all previous records.
The tour will mark India's first Test series in New Zealand since 2019 and their first white-ball assignment in the country since 2022. NZC also confirmed that the New Zealand Government will support the tour as part of celebrations marking 100 years of sporting ties between New Zealand and India.
The action begins at Christchurch's Hagley Oval, which will host the first two T20Is on October 22 and 24. The city will also stage the second Test match from November 27 to December 1.
Wellington has been awarded the opening Test at the Basin Reserve from November 19 to 23 and will also host a T20I and ODI at Hnry Stadium. Auckland's Eden Park and Hamilton's Seddon Park will each host one T20I and one ODI, while Mount Maunganui's Bay Oval will stage the final two ODIs of the series.
New Zealand Cricket Unveils Historic India Tour Schedule
India's visit is expected to be one of the biggest cricket events in New Zealand in recent years, with star attractions such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah likely to draw massive crowds and global attention.
NZC Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Glenn Critchley described the tour as much more than a cricket series.
"This will be about more than just the cricket on the field. It will be a celebration of New Zealand's shared history and culture with India, and our growing rivalry and friendship through cricket," Critchley said.
"The passion and following this team has is staggering, not to mention players such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. We are preparing for the intensity and excitement that will accompany the tour."
Following the India series, the Black Caps will travel to Australia for a four-Test series before returning home to host Sri Lanka in three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Tests between January and February 2027.
The New Zealand women's team, currently preparing to defend their ICC Women's T20 World Cup title, will host Bangladesh for three T20Is and three ODIs from December 10 to December 23.
The Bangladesh series will be the White Ferns' only home assignment of the summer after the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka was rescheduled to February, resulting in changes to New Zealand's planned tour of Australia in early 2027.
Overall, the 2026-27 home season could feature up to 42 days of international cricket across eight cities, making it one of the busiest and most significant summers in New Zealand cricket history.
