India End T20 Series with a 4-1 Win Over New Zealand
Suryakumar Yadav bags Player of the Series award
Udaipur, Jan 31, 2026: India defeated New Zealand in the final match of the T20 series between the two Test playing nations. With the T20 World Cup scheduled to begin in the coming week, the Indian power players have peaked at the right time.
Ishan Kishan scored 103 runs while his team mate Arshdeep returned with figures of 5 for 51 as India beat New Zealand by 467 runs to win the final match and rule the series 5-1. India posted 271 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs, helped by a fiery century from Ishan Kishan. Suryakumar scored 63 of 30 balls while Hardik Pandya scored a quickfire 42 of just 17.
The Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to 225 as the visiting team was bowled out in 19.4 overs. Arshdeep took a fiver handing out 51 runs, while Axar Patel took 3 for 33. Rinku Singh who was given the ball in the final over, took a wicket in the fourth ball to end the New Zealand innings.
