Vaibhav reached his maiden T20I half-century in just 18 balls, making it one of the fastest fifties by an Indian in T20 Internationals. Youngest Batter to Score a Maiden T20I Fifty
With this innings, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi entered the record books. At just 15 years and 118 days, he became the youngest batter in the world to score a maiden half-century in T20 International cricket. The previous record belonged to Gibraltar's Lewis Bruce, who achieved the feat at the age of 16 years and 56 days against Malta in 2021.
Vaibhav also became the youngest player from a Full Member nation to score a T20I fifty. The previous record was held by Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who scored his first T20I half-century against Zimbabwe in 2019 at the age of 17 years and 296 days. Breaking both records at just 15 years of age underlines the extraordinary talent of the young Indian batter.
Apart from Vaibhav's heroics, Ishan Kishan contributed a fluent 35 off 24 balls, while captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 28 to guide India home comfortably.
