India has made history at the Paris Paralympics 2024, securing a total of 27 medals, including 6 gold, 9 silver, and 12 bronze. On Friday, September 6, 2024, Praveen Kumar added to the tally by winning India’s 6th gold in the Men’s High Jump T64 event, setting a new Asian record.
Sumit Antil brought home another gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 event with a record-breaking throw of 70.59 meters.
Harvinder Singh also made history by winning India’s first-ever gold in Para-Archery, defeating Poland’s Lukasz Ciszek 6-0 in the final.
Dharambir took the top spot in the men’s club throw F51 final, securing India’s first Paralympic gold in this event. Nitesh won the gold in men’s singles SL3 badminton, overcoming Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell in a dominant performance.
Avani Lekhara continued her golden streak, winning the women’s 10m air rifle final, becoming the first Indian woman to claim two gold medals in the history of the Paralympic Games.
