Indian Female Wrestler to fight in WWE

After “The Great Khali”, India will now have another wrestling superstar participate in the WWE – this time a female wrestler. Kavita Tomar will be showing her prowess in the International Women Wrestling Championship to be held on 13-14 July in Florida, USA.

Kavita will be the first Indian female wrestler to participate in the championship. Kavita qualified for the championship in the trials conducted by WWE in Dubai on 25 April.

Kavita, a resident of Haryana was a weightlifter in the 75 kgs category. She got married in 2009. After that she took training on the wrestling moves in “The Great Khali” academy. The Great Khali trained her himself on the various moves that are prevalent in the WWE world.

Kavita attributed her success to her husband. She said that her husband had taught her in the initial phase of wrestling and motivated her to progress further. It is only post that did she join The Great Khali academy.

Kavita will be getting into a 3-year agreement with WWE in September.
