In post Diwali sports season of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, the Inter Collegiate Men and Women Athletics Meet commenced today at the University College of Social Science and Humanities (UCSSH). Various events, including, Relay Race, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw, Long Jump and High Jump will be played in this 3 day tournament.

According to Hemraj Singh, Organizing Secretary “around 32 affiliated colleges of MLSU are participating in this event where 30 different Athletic sports will be played till 28 Nov”. Medals will be awarded on closing day of tournament, informed Singh.

Today, on the first day of the tournament, the morning session that began at 8am, finals of 10,000 mtr. race was held among the Men group. Thereafter, Heats (qualifying rounds) of 100 mtr., 200 mtr., 4×100 mtr. Relay and 100 mtr. Hurdle was played in both Men and Women category, along with finals of 800 mtr. and Shot Put.

In the post lunch session, played after 3 pm finals of 400 mtr. Hurdle, 100 mtr. Hurdle, Discus Throw, 100 mtr. and 1500 mtr. Race, Hammer Throw, Javelin Throw and Long jump was played among Men and Women groups; also Heats of 400 mtr. race and 4×100 mtr. Relay was played.
