A two-day Badminton Championship organized by University College of Science, MLSU at University’s Badminton Hall started today. On the first day of the tournament, qualifying and quarter final matches were played.

Around 21 teams in men’s and 14 teams of women’s category are participating; in this two day’s event 200 students of MLSU and its affiliated college will be testing there playing skills.

Inaugural match of the championship, played between University College of Science (UCS) and UCCMS in men category, in the presence of chief guest Prof. Mahip Bhatnager, Dean, UCS, was won by UCCMS with a margin of 21-8 and 21-1 in a straight set.

While, in the first match of women category, which was scheduled between Rajasthan Degree College, Chittorgarh and New Look College, Chittorgarh secured a walk over, as the opponent from New Look College was not present, thereafter in the category total 10 matches were played, including quarterfinals.

Following the proceedings of the tournament, a total of 18 matches were played in men’s category.
