Delhi Capitals complete record chase against Rajasthan Royals, win by 7 wickets in IPL 2026 thriller

Delhi Capitals scripted their highest successful chase in IPL 2026, defeating Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets at Jaipur after a thrilling batting performance.

April 02, 2026: Delhi Capitals (DC), after two back-to-back heartbreaking losses, finally ended their losing streak by securing their fourth win of the season against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 43 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday. DC chased down a massive target of 226 runs with 7 wickets in hand and 5 balls remaining, led by a strong top-order batting performance.

With this win, Delhi Capitals moved up to sixth place in the points table, while Rajasthan Royals slipped into their fourth consecutive defeat despite posting a competitive total.

Rajasthan Royals post 225 as Parag shines and Ferreira finishes strong

Batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals started positively with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting a first-ball six before being dismissed for 6 (3) by Mitchell Starc. Kyle Jamieson then removed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 4 (2), leaving RR at 12 for 2.

Skipper Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel rebuilt with a crucial 102-run partnership. RR reached 56 for 2 in the powerplay, with Parag scoring a superb 90 (50) and Jurel contributing 42 (30) before falling to Axar Patel.

Parag’s knock was supported briefly by Ravindra Jadeja, who made 20 (14), but both were dismissed by Starc in the 17th over. Shubham Dubey added 6 (6), before Donovan Ferreira provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 47 (14), taking RR to 225 for 6.

KL Rahul leads the chase as DC complete a comfortable win

In reply, Delhi Capitals made a flying start through KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, who added 110 runs for the opening wicket. Nissanka scored 62 (33), including a rapid fifty in 23 balls, before being dismissed by Jadeja.

Rahul continued his fine form with 75 (40), while Nitish Rana chipped in with a quick 33 (16), adding 61 runs for the second wicket before falling to Tushar Deshpande. Jofra Archer later dismissed Rahul. Finally, Tristan Stubbs (18* off 11) and Ashutosh Sharma (25 off 15) finished the job calmly, guiding DC to victory with seven wickets in hand and five balls to spare.
