IPL 2026: Vaibhav–Jurel Power RR to 6-Wicket Win, Hand RCB First Defeat of Season at Guwahati
RR beat RCB by 6 wickets in IPL 2026 as Sooryavanshi and Jurel shine with big knocks, keeping RR unbeaten and handing RCB first loss.
April 11, 2026: Rajasthan Royals continued their strong form in the Indian Premier League 2026 with a big win over defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. It was a complete team performance as RR chased down a big target of 202 runs with six wickets in hand and two overs remaining.
RR had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Royal Challengers Bengaluru managed to score 201/8 in their 20 overs. At one stage, RCB were in trouble at 94/6, but they recovered well in the final overs.
Rajat Patidar played an important knock of 63 runs off 40 balls and helped rebuild the innings. Virat Kohli also gave a quick start with 32 runs. In the last overs, Venkatesh Iyer played a strong finishing role with 29 not out from 15 balls, which helped RCB cross the 200-run mark.
For Rajasthan Royals, the bowling unit performed in a balanced way. Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Brijesh Sharma took two wickets each. Their tight bowling kept RCB under pressure, and Ravi Bishnoi also moved up in the Purple Cap race with nine wickets in four matches.

Sooryavanshi and Jurel take RR to an easy chase
In the chase, RR started in a very aggressive way. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a brilliant innings of 78 runs from just 26 balls. He attacked RCB bowlers from the first over and reached his fifty in just 15 balls, matching his own record in IPL 2026. His batting included many boundaries and sixes, which completely changed the match early.
RR reached 97/1 in the powerplay, which is their highest powerplay score in IPL history. This strong start made the chase much easier for the team.
After Sooryavanshi got out, Dhruv Jurel continued the momentum. He played a calm but strong innings and scored an unbeaten 81 from 43 balls. He made sure there was no pressure on the team during the chase.
RR finished the match comfortably by reaching 202/4 in 18 overs. They won by 6 wickets and showed strong control in both batting and bowling departments.
