Hinge-Sakib shine on debut as SRH crush Rajasthan Royals in 57-run win in Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeat Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs in the Indian Premier League 2026 as debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain deliver match-winning performances.

April 14, 2026: Rajasthan Royals’ unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League 2026 came to an end on Monday in match 21, as Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a convincing 57-run victory. The win was powered by a brilliant half-century from Ishan Kishan and impressive debut performances from pacers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain. With this result, only the Punjab Kings remain unbeaten in the tournament so far.

After winning the toss, RR opted to bowl first. SRH had a poor start as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck on the very first ball. However, Kishan and Travis Head quickly stabilised the innings and added valuable runs, taking SRH to 51 for 1 at the end of the powerplay. RR captain Riyan Parag brought himself into the attack and dismissed Head for 18 runs off 18 balls in the first over after the powerplay. Kishan then took control of the innings, scoring a quick fifty in just 30 balls and guiding SRH past the 100-run mark. He played a superb knock of 91 runs off 44 balls before being dismissed by Sandeep Sharma, falling just nine runs short of a well-deserved century.

Heinrich Klaasen added a rapid 40 runs off just 11 balls but missed out on a half-century after being dismissed by Tushar Deshpande. Nitish Kumar Reddy played an aggressive cameo of 28 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed by Jofra Archer. Towards the end, Sanvir Singh (24* off 13) and Aniket Verma (6 off 5) added crucial finishing runs, helping SRH post a strong total of 216 for 6.

RR suffer early collapse in chase

In response, RR had a disastrous start. Debutant Praful Hinge struck immediately, dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius for ducks in his very first over. In the next over, another debutant, Sakib Hussain, removed Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 1 run. Hinge then struck again to dismiss Parag for 4, reducing RR to a shocking 9 for 5 within the first three overs.

Trying to recover from the collapse, Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira built a steady 50-run partnership. Ferreira played a fighting innings, scoring his maiden IPL fifty in just 31 balls and keeping RR’s hopes alive. He went on to score 69 runs off 44 balls before being dismissed by Sakib Hussain in the 15th over. Jadeja also contributed with 45 runs off 32 balls but was dismissed by Eshan Malinga, leaving RR at 129 for 7.

Sakib Hussain continued his impressive debut, removing Jofra Archer (2 runs off 5 balls) and Ravi Bishnoi (0 runs off 1 ball) to complete a four-wicket haul. In the final moments, Eshan Malinga dismissed Tushar Deshpande for 25 runs off 11 balls, as RR were bowled out for 159. SRH secured a comprehensive 57-run victory with a dominant all-round performance.
