19th January, 2026: The Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025–26 ended with Vidarbha winning the title. They defeated Saurashtra by 38 runs in the final on Sunday, January 18, in Bengaluru. Batting first, Vidarbha posted a strong total of 317/8, and their bowlers later restricted Saurashtra to 279 in 48.5 overs.

This was Vidarbha’s first Vijay Hazare Trophy title, and the team showed consistent performances throughout the tournament. Several Indian cricket stars and IPL players took part in the competition and impressed fans with their performances.

However, some well-known IPL players failed to perform as expected. Their poor returns affected their teams’ chances in the tournament. Here is a look at five IPL stars who flopped in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26.

He scored 193 runs in six matches at an average of 32.16, including two half-centuries. Shaw finished the tournament with fewer than 200 runs. He was later picked by Delhi Capitals (DC) for ₹75 lakh in the IPL 2026 auction.

2. Rajat Patidar

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar struggled due to injury and played only a few matches. He featured in three games for Madhya Pradesh but failed to make a big impact.
