Abhishek Sharma's explosive fifty goes in vain as India's middle order collapses
India's chase started in the best possible fashion, with Abhishek Sharma taking the attack to the Ireland bowlers from the very first over. The left-hander raced to a stunning half-century in just 19 balls, putting India firmly in control of the chase. However, wickets continued to fall at the other end. Sanju Samson was dismissed for five by debutant Jai Moondra, Ishan Kishan managed just one run, while captain Shreyas Iyer endured a disappointing outing, scoring only three runs from seven deliveries. After Abhishek was dismissed for 50, India's hopes faded quickly as none of the middle-order batters managed to build a meaningful partnership.

Ireland's bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings. Matthew Humphreys and Matthew Hollard starred with three wickets each, while the rest of the bowling unit supported them brilliantly by keeping the scoring rate under control. India were eventually bowled out for 148, falling 34 runs short of the target.
The victory was Ireland's first-ever win over India in T20I cricket and one of the biggest moments in the team's history. For India, the defeat served as a major wake-up call ahead of the upcoming England series. While Abhishek Sharma's fearless innings was the biggest positive, the poor performance from the middle order and the inability to finish the chase exposed areas that need immediate improvement before the second and final T20I.
