IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja ends 17-month wait with historic milestone on English soil

Jadeja, cementing his position as one of the best all-rounders in the world, scored the fifth century of his Test career. With this, he made history by scoring two Test centuries on England soil.

Ravindra Jadeja is known for batting well in the lower order. In this Test series in England, Jadeja has impressed everyone with his batting. Earlier, he had scored half-centuries in both innings at Lord's. Now, he played an unbeaten century in Manchester. He remained not out on 107 runs. With this century, Jadeja created history.

First Indian

Ravindra Jadeja became the first Indian player to score two Test centuries while batting at number 6 or lower on England soil. He had earlier scored a century in Birmingham in 2022. With this century in Manchester, Jadeja now has three centuries against England. He ended a long wait of 17 months by scoring this hundred.

Jadeja-Sundar Save the Match

In the Manchester Test, Jadeja made an unbeaten partnership of 203 runs for the fifth wicket with Washington Sundar. This partnership helped India draw the match. Sundar also scored the first century of his Test career and remained not out on 101 runs. Before this, Jadeja had scored 112 runs against England in Rajkot in February 2024. His first Test century was against West Indies, and the second was against Sri Lanka. His third, fourth, and fifth centuries have come against England.
