Jay Shah currently serves as the ICC chairman and had earlier worked as the BCCI secretary. During his tenure, Ganguly was the BCCI President before Roger Binny took over the role. Ganguly is now the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. GT beat KKR by 5 wickets, Gill leads the chase

Kolkata Knight Riders continued their poor run in IPL 2026, suffering their fifth consecutive defeat after losing to Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They remain the only team yet to register a win this season. Gujarat’s bowling attack, led by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, applied early pressure and restricted  KKR from building strong momentum.

The purple brigade made a change to their lineup, with Tim Seifert replacing Finn Allen, but the move did not deliver the desired result. Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for a golden duck, while Seifert scored 19 runs. The innings was stabilised by Cameron Green, who played a strong knock of 79, and Rovman Powell, who added 27 runs as the pair shared a 55-run partnership. However, the rest of the batting lineup, including Rinku Singh, failed to contribute, and KKR finished with 180 runs.

In response, Shubman Gill led the chase with a composed and commanding innings of 86 off 50 balls. Although Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy bowled effectively during the middle overs, Gujarat Titans maintained control of the chase and completed the target with two balls remaining. The win marked Gujarat’s third of the season, while KKR remain at the bottom of the table and under pressure to turn their campaign around.
